No photograph is taken ‘purely by chance’. Family members stand by each other and relate to each other. In pictorial spaces, they choose a place that agrees with them and suits them. Likewise, they keep their distance or ‘grant space’ at their side. People stand up, they try to take a position and express something consciously or unconsciously with their standing.
In this series I let the people in their families intuitively take the place they are in, in addition I play with a ‘dynamic factor’, which breaks up the family constellation but can also make positions more solid.
